Dark Magic Gradient

*Disclaimer: some items in this post have been previously received for review.

HIIIIII!!!

I am SO SO EXCITED about today's design!! I love it I love it I love it! And I hope you will too :D

I did a sort of halloween design, but not the typical one; I decided to create some vampy "dark magic" nails that a witch would wear on a daily basis ;) And well, since these look so magical in real life, I decided to have some *magical* pictures to match it! (meaning: aristicly waving my hands about on pictures lol)

I did a gradient with my own made Nayll polish Mojo Pin (you can see swatches and read my review about it here!) and a dark blue polish by D'Orleac (No. 44). Then I topped that with 1 coat of Max Factor Fantasy Fire (yeah baby!) and my Gel Like Top Coat from Only You.

The result? A smoking hot fierce and fire-y dark magic gradient. Did I tell you yet how much I love it? I took about a gazilion of pictures because well, look at these. I never want to take them off ever again.

The pictures that are most true to how these look, were the ones I took in indirect natural light. They show off the darkness and sexyness of the design more. So now you will be forced to look at an abundance of hot shots (by which I mean smoking hot pictures of this smoking hot design). I don't think you'll mind though ;)

The sun came and went a few times, which is why the lighting isn't always the same. But it's still all indirect lighting. The green, orange and yellow sparkles that Fantasy Fire had at certain angles, were really really hard to capture on camera. I got the pretty green sparkles eventually in low lighting:

LUUUURVE. I am determined to wear these for as long as they'll last! I DON'T EVER WANT TO TAKE THEM OFF. Boo hoo. I'm making the best of it now by constantly staring at my nails instead of doing school work (oops).

I also took a lot of pictures in my lightbox with artificial lighting, and those show the subtle colour shifts of Fantasy Fire better - but they don't really convey the dark sexyess of the design sadly.
Anyway, the colour shift is amazing enough as it is, so I'll share some pictures with you :)

AMAZING MACRO MODE ENABLED!

LOOK AT THOSE COLOURFUL FLAKIES! LOOK AT THEM!
And another picture of this witchy gradient in natural lighting!
OOH LA LA. I keep falling in love with these whenever I look at the pictures (or better yet, whenever I stare down at my nails). If these aren't magical, then I don't know what is!Uhm, I was so excited that I made a bunch of collages again. So yeah. Here's the awesomest one:

It kind of got away from me yeah. These nails are just too pretty to not have graceful "meant to be artistic" collages.

Are you as fond of these as I am? And do you think they count as a Halloween design? :D Thanks for reading!

  1. Wow! This looks incredible! I have one question though. I don't quite understand how you applied Fantasy Fire on top of the gradient. Did you use a sponge or just with the brush of the polish?
And yeah, for me this sure counts as a Halloween design! It's gorgeous. I should look for this Fantasy Fire in the shops too. ;)

    1. Thanks! I just applied Fantasy Fire on top of the gradient like you would apply a polish normally :) so with the brush of the polish. It's a very sheer polish so it doesn't change the colours of the gradient too much :) I picked up Fantasy Fire by accident (in the Kruidvat!) but I'm so glad I have it now! I you spot it, definitely get it ;)

    1. Thank you! :) It was so unplanned, I was doubting between just wearing Mojo Pin on its own or wearing the dark blue polish with FF on top - and then I decided to combine those ideas! :D I'd love to see your take on it!
